Chelmsford Conservative Club is located on Moulsham Street in Chelmsford and has been in existence since 1938 when a group of Chelmsford businessmen decided to form a club where they could meet and discuss the days business. The original club was located at the town end of Moulsham Street before the founding members purchased the current premises. In 1960, the snooker room was added to allow more space for a growing membership which in it's heyday boasted over 700 members. Little has changed over the years and the club still enjoys the patronage of over 500 hundred members, many of whom enjoy the relaxed and inviting atmosphere that's become synonymous with the club. The 'Con Club' as its more commonly known offers its membership a wide and varied selection of social events throughout the year with live entertainment and regular quiz nights. The well stocked bar carries all the popular brand name lagers and beers including a regular guest ale. The Autumn Room which features the Saturday night entertainment is available to members for private functions such as wedding anniversaries, birthdays, christenings and funeral receptions. Details are available from the club secretary. |
